Directing credits include: world premiere of The Idea Man by Kevin King, Ovation Award nominee for Best Direction & Production, Pick of the Week, LA Weekly; world premiere of Asleep on a Bicycle by Tony Foster, Critic's Pick, LA Times and Backstage West; world premiere of Anything by Tim McNeil, 3 LADCC Awards including Best Direction, Critic's Pick LA Times and Backstage West; In Arabia, We'd All Be Kings by Stephen Adly Guirgis, 4 LADCC awards including Best Direction and Production, Critic's Pick, LA Times and Backstage West; world premiere of Los Muertos by Tim McNeil, Critic's Pick, LA Times & Backstage West.

PATRICK PANKHURST

After a Harvard education, Patrick worked in commercial casting for 25 years. He has had a long career as an actor, director, writer and producer in LA Theatre, Film, and TV. He's taught for 15 years including 8 at the Stella Adler Academy. All classes are in the Elephant Lab. All classes are on camera. The camera is a great teacher because it says nothing and it never lies. The goal is to be a better artist.

CHRIS GAME

Founding member of the Elephant Theatre Company. For 12 years he has been casting national commercials, music videos, and films including: Kelsey Grammer, Jorge Garcia (Lost), Jason Segel (Knocked Up) and James Ransone (Generation Kill) in the independent film Good Humor Man; and William Shatner’s Price Line spot. Worked closely with directors Paul Mazursky (Moscow on the Hudson) and Harold Becker (Sea of Love), and cast for Philip Seymour Hoffman. In 2008, Chris was voted one of the Favorite Commercial Casting Directors by Back Stage/West; and in 2009—one of the Favorite Commercial Audition Workshop teachers. Last year, he cast 28 of his students in commercials. He is a Drama-Logue Award winning director and has directed over 20 plays in his 15 year tenure with the Elephant. Chris has been teaching for 10 years.

MICHAEL ARABIAN

Michael Arabian is a multiple-award winning director, noted for innovative and original interpretations of new and classic plays, directed numerous world, West Coast and Los Angeles premieres, including Zimmer by Donald Margulies at the Jewish Rep in New York and Spring Awakening at the Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles. His theatre company, Theatre InSite, staged productions of an urban Romeo & Juliet that had audiences following scenes and car chases through the CBS backlot ‘streets’, and an update of The Trojan Women starring Mariette Hartley, staged on the old Gilligan’s Island Lagoon. His recent production of John Patrick Shanley’s Danny and the Deep Blue Sea received 12 critics choices and ran for 7 months. He has directed at the Mark Taper Forum and Lucile Lortels White Barn Theatre in Westport Ct.

ELISSA WEINZIMMER

ELISSA WEINZIMMER

Elissa studied a vocal technique called Fitzmaurice Voicework® while she was an undergrad actor, singer and director at USC. After losing her own voice, she began to practice and teach intensively. Elissa's mission is to teach performers to connect with the richness of their breath, body and voice, combining the Fitzmaurice technique with hatha yoga in an approach that opens the performer to truer and deeper presence. As a director, Elissa has worked at the Ahmanson, Pasadena Playhouse, Kirk Douglas, Berkeley Rep, Lillian, Theatre @ Boston Court, Odyssey, Hudson and Sacred Fools. She is the 2009 recipient of the SDCF Mike Ockrent Natl. Fellowship, assoc. member of SDC, alum of the Director's Lab West, Yoga Alliance cert. instructor and candidate for cert. as an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework.
